AGP122 is our second installment featuring works by the American composer Donald Erb, who passed away in August at the age of 81. For more information on the composer, see the AGP97 page in the archive or this biography.

Tracks 07-10 are a transcription of a Louisville Orchestra First Editions Records LP that I found in a used record store after AGP97 was released. The recordings on this LP are brilliant, and the works exhibit Erb's rich and intriguing orchetral style. More than the works in AGP97, these reminded me in places of Jacob Druckman's orchestral works.

Tracks 11-13 were provided by an Erb enthusiast and were transcribed using unknown analog equipment. The transcriptions have a somewhat darker, indistinct sound than you may be accustomed to from other AGP transcriptions. I could not transcribe these myself because I do not have copies of the LPs, so I offer these transcriptions instead to provide a wider sampling of Erb's compositions.

The installment includes a PDF file with scans of the liner notes of the LP from which tracks 07-10 were  transcribed.
